Genetics is the biggest single risk factor in canine hip dysplasia. According to the OFA database, 33% of French Bulldogs have hip dysplasia.

Atopic Dermatitis

Canine atopic dermatitis is a chronic genetically predisposed inflammatory and pruritic skin disorder. In one 9-year long study, 85% of French Bulldogs were found to have atopic dermatitis. It most commonly affected dogs between the ages of 3 and 6. 

IVDD

Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) is a common source of back pain in dogs, especially in older dogs but also in younger dogs of predisposed breeds. Studies show that up to 61% of French Bulldogs are affected by IVDD, making it a common health concern for the breed.
